According to new leaders, part of the turnaround includes weighing options for industrial projects beyond the usual infrastructure and convention center construction.

This includes gathering input from organizations such as the Port of Houston, Harris County and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, among others.

Pasadena Second Century was established in 1999 to direct city economic development efforts. A half-cent sales tax measure provides about $10 million in annual revenue.

The EDC is legally limited to creating jobs and infrastructure projects that relate to job creation and the region’s quality of life.
