La Porte police are investigating an incident that occurred during a normal traffic stop. Police pulled over a man, and he pulled a gun on himself and committed suicide during the routine traffic stop.
Police say they noticed the man had a defective headlight and pulled him over shortly after 8 p.m.
During the traffic stop, a series of outstanding traffic warrants from neighboring cities was revealed.
As the officer was in his vehicle checking his computer, the man pulled out a small gun and shot himself in the head.
La Porte Police Detectives are working on an investigation of the incident.
