A large fire in southeast Houston overtook the LyondellBasell plant Friday and resulted in a shelter in place order for much of the area.
The fire started around 10 a.m. at Houston Refining in a coker unit, which is part of the refining process. The facility is located at 12000 Lawndale.
The Houston Fire Department declared the fire to be under control by noon on Friday. According to a spokesperson, there were no known injuries from the fire.
HFD is investigating the fire along with OSHA to determine its cause.
