A local mother blames the lack of sidewalks for her son’s death. The local high school student died after 
being struck by a vehicle while on his way to school.
Krenek Road, by Crosby High School, has no sidewalks and there are deep ditches on either side of it.
The mother said her son was on his way to school and had no choice but to be in the road.
Christopher Dubose was riding his skateboard when he was hit by the pickup truck, according to investigators.
The mother plans to pressure local lawmakers to put in sidewalks and speed zones to make roads safer.
The accident that killed her 18-year-old son happened just before 7 a.m. last Wednesday. The driver of the vehicle was a fellow student.
