Houston Police responded to a burglary alarm at Metro PCS on Tuesday morning, but ended up making a drug bust at Action Smoke Shop and Studio next door.
While investigating the alarm, which turned out to be false, in the South Houston neighborhood, police reported seeing several people run into the smoke shop. Police entered the shop and found people crawling around in the ceiling.
Houston Police said they found several pounds of marijuana, some cocaine, cash and a handgun in the store. Police estimate the street value of the drugs at $500,000.
Other businesses in the strip mall with Metro PCS and Action Smoke Shop and Studio are being questioned as well.
