A small plane crash Monday morning at La Porte Municipal Airport led to the hospitalization of the pilot.
Authorities say that the single-engine plane experienced a mechanical issue as it was approaching the airport. The issue led the plane to nosedive into a nearby grassy area.
Firefighters carried the pilot away from the accident; he’s been identified as Richard Henry Knoll. Knoll was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical via Life Flight.
