As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Texas businesses that are tied to freight, distribution and transportation are shedding hundreds of jobs.
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notices filed in Texas show layoffs in the manufacturing, logistics or distribution industry include Step Energy Solutions, Pioneer Frozen Foods, Zachry Industrial-LyondellBasell and UTLX Manufacturing.
More than 1,000 workers in freight manufacturing, transportation and distribution have lost their jobs recently as a result of the pandemic.
