A detective from La Porte shot a suspect while serving a felony warrant on Monday morning.
The incident happened on Red Bluff along Pasadena Boulevard.
The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Jeremy Endsley, and he is expected to survive.
While the shooting took place in Pasadena, the case was out of La Porte, so La Porte police will handle the investigation.
The La Porte detective was trying to serve a felony warrant related to a probation violation.
