Shane Pellerin Law Firm, PCChevron is reportedly considering a permanent shutdown of the gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracker (FCC) at its 112,229 barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in Pasadena, Texas.

The company is considering options for reconfiguring the Pasadena plant.

Idling the shut 52,000-bpd FCC would be part of converting the refinery in Pasadena on the Houston Ship Channel to a simpler hydroskimming configuration, according to sources.

The FCC was shut down June 1 by a malfunction.

The company says that a decision will be made regarding the Pasadena FCC later this month.
