Shane Pellerin Law Firm, PCHarris County is working to give out nearly $2 million to people who are behind in rent.

The money comes from the federal government, and the money needs to be used by the end of July.

Federal evictions protections will be over by the end of July.

The money remaining in the pot can help more than 200 families in Harris County pay back rent. Deer Park and La Porte are both included in the list of unincorporated parts of Harris County in which residents can apply for the assistance.

Money goes directly to the landlords, and the program can cover as much as six months in back rent.
