A massive explosion in southeast Texas sent fireballs into the air around 1:00 a.m. this morning. The shockwave of the blast damaged walls in nearby structures and shattered windows miles away.
The explosion occurred in Port Neches, Texas, near the Louisiana border. People living within a half-mile of the plant have been advised to evacuate.
Early reports say that there have been no fatalities in the blast, but there have been several injuries. Reports suggest that the explosion could be felt as far as 40 miles away.
The refinery is owned by TPC Group. The chemical plant produces petroleum products.
