The recent Port Neches TPC plant explosion is yet another chemical plant explosion in a series of explosions in southeast Texas in 2019.
The ITC plant in Deer Park burned for several days in late March of 2019. No one was hurt in the fire, but tanks on the Deer Park property suffered extensive damage.
Just a few weeks later, the KMCO plant caught fire in Crosby in April of 2019. One person died and two were injured in this accident.
A few months later, the ExxonMobil plant in Baytown had a fire, and 66 people needed to be treated as a result of the fire.
After that incident, the Celanese plant in Pasadena caught fire. While no one was hurt, workers needed to evacuate the plant.
The Port Neches plant explosion is the fifth plant fire in southeast Texas in 2019.
