Lubrizol invested $125 million to build the plant in 2012 as part of an expansion in PVC. The new unit is meant to broaden Lubrizol’s global capabilities afforded by their plant near the Houston Shipping Channel.

The company, based out of Wickliffe, Ohio, announced the new unit construction is in conjunction with a technology license agreement with Daelim Industrial.

Lubrizol aims for the new PIB unit to be fully operational in the first half of 2019. PIB is a key raw material for dispersants and lubricants.
