Shane Pellerin Law Firm, PCAccording to the school district, a pre-kindergarten student at La Porte Elementary School is suspected to have measles.

Measles is highly infections, and it’s commonly spread through coughing and sneezing.

The CDC says that symptoms of measles begin with a high fever, cough, runny nose and red, watery eyes. A few days after initial symptoms, white spots appear inside the mouth and a rash will break out.

The district says they are disinfecting all classrooms and common areas. The CDC recommends that children get two doses of the measles vaccine.
