Shane Pellerin Law Firm, PCChevron is expanding its Pasadena refinery with a $400 million upgrade project. The updates will expand the facility’s capacity to process light oil by almost 15 percent.

The project is expected to be completed by 2023 and will allow the refinery to process 125,000 barrels per day.

This helps solve the issue that not enough refineries have been able to process the light variety of oil found in Texas shale.

Chevron says the upgrades will help them reduce emissions at the Pasdena facility.
