Pemex, Mexico’s state-owned oil company, reported a tripped compressor at its Deer Park refinery this week.
The tripped compressor led to an excessive amount of gas emissions.
The compressor trip occurred on September 17, and it caused the gas to be sent to the West Property Flare.
Authorities say that the emissions lasted for more than two hours and included about 4,800 pounds of sulfur dioxide.
