An application for Intercontinental Terminals Company to renew its operating permit led to a hearing last week. ITC wants to renew its Pasadena permit, but residents and officials had concerns regarding community health and safety.
ITC officials also faced questions related to the 2019 Deer Park fire.
Speakers asked about safety measures that would be put in place as well as potential changes after the 2019 fire.
Representatives from ITC said that the company is committed to safe operations.
The executive director of TCEQ recommends that a draft permit be issued.
