Shane Pellerin Law Firm, PCThe Associated Press reports that local officials reported a spill at a Houston-area Superfund site after Hurricane Harvey. According to the report, PRP Group led a cleanup team that called an emergency federal hotline to report a spill in the Vince Bayou, which is near the U.S. Oil Recovery Superfund site.

The company reported two more potential spills from the Superfund site, which is a former waste-processing plant in Pasadena, Texas.

The EPA reported that they are still assessing the site as they say it warrants a more thorough review. They plan to sample standing water in open tanks and remove excess stormwater from the site.

The site in Pasadena has been part of the Superfund program since 2012. EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt visited Houston on Friday to assess the cleanup efforts.
