The Onstar system inside a stolen SUV helped Houston police catch a pair of car thieves.
Around 2 a.m. August 12, Onstar called Houston police and told them about a stolen Yukon SUV they were tracking. The vehicle had been stolen from Bellaire.
Police started following the vehicle on Yale at East 10th and then tried to pull over the vehicle at the Katy Freeway. The stolen SUV then took off at more than 100 mph on the Katy Freeway.
The driver exited the Northwest Freeway and came to a stop on Antoine. At this point a passenger in the SUV ran out and was taken into custody by a Precinct 1 Constable.
Police arrested the driver when he turned onto Victory at Antoine at a car wash and stopped.
Both suspects have been turned over to Bellaire police.
