The 2016 Great Texas Warrant Round-Up (WRU) is coming on March 5. Throughout the state, 300 jurisdictions will engage in this annual law enforcement campaign. In addition to the Houston Police Department, other participants in the region include the following: Harris, Galveston, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Nueces, Waller and Wichita Counties.
The purpose of the statewide WRU program is to bring about greater public awareness regarding outstanding warrants and hopefully encourage people to resolve their case before they’re arrested. The warrant round-up period will begin on March 5, and at that time local law enforcement will aggressively target defendants on the warrant list.
