While students are at home during the coronavirus pandemic, Deer Park Independent School District nurses are adapting to meet students’ needs.
The nursing team members have been reaching out to talk with teachers and students about their health and what they’re worried about while at home. The district’s school lunch pickup service has also provided a chance to speak directly with both students and parents.
With the distance between the staff and the students, many of the nurses are worrying about some of the students, especially those who are medically fragile.
They’ve been trying to provide emotional support however they can.
