A rental car company fined a Deer Park man more than $5,000 after he was carjacked in Tennessee.
Jason Reid said Avis charged him more than $5,000 for keeping the rental car for a month, despite him telling the company that he was carjacked.
Reid said he was taking his mother to see Graceland, and he was carjacked near his hotel in Memphis.
Memphis Police say that the car was recovered the next day and has been held to be processed as evidence.
Eventually Avis returned nearly $5,000 in fines once they confirmed that Reid was not at fault.
