Shane Pellerin Law Firm, PCThe Intercontinental Terminals Company 2019 Deer Park fire led to a $900,000 settlement that will be paid to Harris County.

The fire was caused when a tank containing a flammable liquid hydrocarbon mixture started fire and then spread to nearby tanks.

The fire burned for several days and resulted in schools and businesses being forced to close.

The Texas Attorney General’s Office is also pursuing a case against ITC related to the Deer Park fire.

A statement from ITC relayed the following:

“ITC appreciates the significant resources incurred by Harris County during the incident response. Thus, we are pleased to have been able to work cooperatively with the County to find an amicable resolution to resolve its claims.”
