Shane Pellerin Law Firm, PCOfficials in La Porte issued an “all clear” around midnight Sunday after reports of a mystery odor coming from Lubrizol Corp in Deer Park.

The shelter-in-place order for Seabrook was lifted Monday morning.

The odor was identified as mercaptan, which is also known as methanethiol, and is an organic sulfur matter.

The odor has been described as the scent of rotting cabbages or smelly socks.

According to officials, the leak was reported around 8:15 p.m. at Lubrizol Corp at 41 Tidal Road in Deer Park.
