According to sources, Mexican state oil company Petroleos Mexicanos will take control over Shell’s Deer Park refinery this week.
Pemex reached an agreement with personnel already working in the refinery, and sources say that they will take control of the refinery January 20, 2022.
The operators will be the same to guarantee stability, but they will no longer be working for Shell.
Transition activities are pending, but sources expect the deal to be complete this week.
