Shane Pellerin Law Firm, PCA small benzene spill was reported during the afternoon of Friday, July 15. The spill occurred around noon at the Vopak Terminal Deer Park.

Roughly 500 gallons of benzene spilled on a tanker while the boat was moored at the terminal in Deer Park, Texas. Only a small bit of the benzene reached the water.

As as result of the spill, the San Jacinto Monument and Museum state park was evacuated. The Houston Ship Channel was also closed between the Lynchburg Ferry Crossing and Carpenters Bayou.

Normal operations were resumed within several hours of the spill.
