Shoppers smashed the windows of a Jeep in a strip center near North Fry Road and Little York yesterday afternoon as they noticed two hot children in the car. They believed they had no time to spare and chose to take matters into their own hands.
The mother of the children was inside getting a haircut when Gabriel Del Valle heard the kids inside the vehicle crying out. He was inside his nearby shop and stepped out when he heard the cries.
One shopper used a hammer to smash open the windows, but they still had issues opening the doors because a child lock was on.
After several minutes the shoppers were able to free the children. Their mother claimed that she left them in the car only briefly so she could get a haircut.
No one notified the police of the incident after the mother begged them not to. She explained that she’d just made a terrible mistake.
The children were unharmed in the incident.
