The FBI announced that they had opened an investigation into the Harris County Jail related to the deaths of two inmates.
The sheriff’s office requested the investigation, and the FBI is promising fair, thorough and impartial investigations.
According to Harris County records 21 inmates died in custody in 2021. The total number of inmate deaths in 2023 is reported to be “at least four.”
Attorney Ben Crump is representing the families of those who have died in the Harris County Jail.
