La Porte officials are investigating a deadly hit-and-run discovered late Wednesday night.
Shortly before midnight an officer spotted the victim of the hit-and-run along the side of road in the 10900 block of W. Fairmont Parkway.
The pedestrian was already dead when paramedics arrived on the scene.
Police found car parts near the site of the body, and an investigation into the hit-and-run began immediately.
Some reports say that the driver involved in the accident stopped into the police station to say that they believed they hit a deer.
