On January 24, 2023, a tornado ripped through Pasadena and Deer Park and destroyed hundreds of homes and businesses.
The Pasadena Animal Shelter was filled with hundreds of animals and several workers during the storm that devastated the area.
Local animal rescue groups, some from as far away as Austin, swooped in after the devastation with trailers to bring the animals from the shelter to safety.
Now, one year after the storm, the Pasadena Animal Shelter is nearly ready to bring animals back in.
The building has been completely rebuilt, including the roof, HVAC system and more that were lost in the storm.
The shelter’s manager says she’s thrilled with how the community came together to help each other and get the shelter back in shape, hopefully in time to accept animals again for Valentine’s Day.
