A motorist driving the wrong direction on Highway 146 crashed into a van last night, leaving the van driver in critical condition.
The crash took place at 1 a.m. Tuesday near West Main, Baytown police told Khou.com. The car driver was heading south in the northbound lanes of Highway 146, and caused a head-on collision with the 35-year-old female driver of the van.
Both drivers were pinned inside their vehicles. First responders extricated both of them; the woman was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. The car driver, a 25-year-old male, was also airlifted to the hospital in serious condition with massive internal injuries.
